One thing you may have noticed on my goal list was goal 92, regarding the GMAT. I decided to take the GMAT because I was considering going to business school. The reason I didn't tell you about this was because I wasn't ready to talk about it at work yet and figured I should keep it offline until I was ready to talk about it at work. Now, I'm unemployed, so I can say whatever I want. I can't believe I didn't realize that until now. I took the GMAT in December, after studying daily for 4 months. I was focused almost exclusively on the quantitative sections, since I figured the qualitative and writing sections were in the bag. I didn't do quite as well on the test as I wanted, but I suppose that's true of most people. Qualitative score was great, got the highest possible score on the writing, but my quantitative score was entirely average. The mean quantitative score is a 35.6, I got a 36. I had been hoping to push up to a 40, but what can you do. Instead of taking the GMAT again in the vain hopes of boosting my score (and for what), I've decided to focus on other ways of making myself an attractive MBA candidate. I just applied to take some courses at a local school that offers a pre-MBA program, which is perfect for me- the chance to take some quantitative courses to prove my academic prowess and test the waters before I apply to full-time programs. SOON I WILL RULE THE WORLD MWA HA HA HA.
