I have a laundry situation going on. The past few weeks have been crazy busy with interviews, church work, and studying for the class final (which was today, hurray, now I can start forgetting everything). All this running around in real clothes means I've completely run out of clean things to wear, specifically interview-appropriate things that I'd want to wear walking around in 90 degree weather. I stopped at the nice consignment shop down the street last night for a few tops I could wear under my suit, just to hold me over for a few days until things settle down. Tomorrow night better be when things settle down, because that's when I truly come to the bottom of the barrel, after I wear the sleeveless wool mock-turtleneck I bought to an interview tomorrow. That was a dumb purchase; I think all the heat has done a number on my brain. I took a typing test the other day- do you know I type 100+ words a minute? I feel dumb saying that in any context where someone wants to know, it just sounds ridiculous. I would lie and say a lower number, but I hate lying. Plus, it would be wrong to turn my back on the skill that got me where I am today. Hello, my name is MissPinkKate, and I have terrible handwriting. In elementary school, I got bad grades in handwriting- I was getting Os (for Outstanding) in everything else, but I got the worst letter you could get in handwriting (P, maybe? Or X? I forget the system). In high school, my English teacher told me my handwriting was dreadful and that she would make me practice my handwriting IF she didn't know that computers were the way of the future and it didn't matter. That woman was crazy, but (or should I say and) she let me use her personal desk computer during class to type up all my assignments, bless her heart. While the rest of my classmates sat there and had to write things out by hand. HAHA, SUCKERS. That right there is a perfect example of the fortune I carry around in my purse- "You will always get what you want through your charm and personality." Damn straight. Past :: Present :: Future |
