A guy at church works on the same block I do. I asked, oh, so how do you get there every day? Oh, he replies, I just take the this train to that stop, then get out and walk two blocks to the other train and it takes me home. It was the PERFECT route, and it would've taken me months to think of it myself. I could've kissed him on the mouth. Goodbye, evening bus. I may ride you occasionally if I need to go to the library or something, but other than that, you will have to do without me!

Went to the marathon yesterday. I LOVE Marathon Sunday. If Tony Sunday is my Christmas, Marathon Sunday is my 4th of July. There's something great about being there to watch thousands of people from around the world run through the streets of NYC, while thousands more cheer them on. I like being a part of it- it feels patriotic, and what all know what a hyper-patriotic weirdo I am. Standing on the side of the road, crying happy tears watching people run. I was particularly glad to go to cheer on a friend from high school who survived cancer and ran to raise money for cancer research. Of course, it figures that I was there from the time the elite women blurred by to the tail end where most people are just walking, and I never saw him. He definitely came by while I was there, although a little later than he intended, due to a sprained ankle. Dude sprained his ankle on mile *8* and still finished the marathon! Blows my mind.
